Coach Barnes has been coaching the game of Volleyball for over 20 years now.  He has always had a love and deep passion for sports and has had some incredible years playing high school sports, namely football, basketball, and baseball.  As a high school athlete, Barnes has won numerous awards, being named the Male Athlete of the Year among his high school peers. Barnes has Two High School State Championship experiences under his belt and understands the discipline, dedication, and dynamics of team chemistry required to become a competitive unit.  Barnes has proven himself over and over again that with Coachable players, everyone under his watch will excel in the sport and become more prepared to WIN in Life !

Coach Barnes is now Head Volleyball Coach at Northern High School in Durham, NC, where he continues to take raw interested players, turning them into better, more skilled players and raising their interest and understanding of the sport.

Coach Barnes has also had great success in club volleyball. In Over 20 years of coaching , he has won numerous regional tournaments, even finishing among the top teams in national tournaments like the Quest, Monument City, Capitol Hill, and The Big South Qualifier.  Coach Barnes continues to be a student of the game and will always be internally motivated to WIN!
